The area of Moraine Lake is referred to as the 'Valley of Ten Peaks' and is totally amazing. Many consider it and the surrounding valley to be one of the best of the Canadian Rockies. When it is full of water, it reflects a distinct shade of blue looks like a piece of blue sky on the Earth. The color is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis.
